Join us for an easy guided walk through the beautiful mountain landscape of Râu Sadului. Discover traditional hay meadows, centuries-old farming practices and the stories behind Țara Colibelor, a local initiative dedicated to preserving the region’s pastoral heritage.

From Mountain Meadows to Local Flavours

Our journey begins in the Grui area, near the hamlet of Ciupari. During a relaxed two-kilometre walk, your local guide introduces you to the landscape, traditional farming and everyday life in this mountain community.

Along the way, we explore the story of Țara Colibelor, visit a restored hay barn and discover how rural heritage can be preserved through contemporary initiatives.

The experience ends in a garden in Valea Prejbei, where we enjoy a one-hour tasting featuring 5–6 varieties of traditional sheep’s cheese, a modern reinterpretation of a local recipe, bread, cured pork fat, vegetables and local fruit syrup.

Prices:

Included: Guided walk, heritage visits, hands-on hay activity and local food tasting.

Not included: Transport from Sibiu (available on request).

Children aged 6–11 receive a 50% discount, when accompanied by at least two full-paying adults.

Children under 6 cannot participate in this experience.
Comfortable walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are recommended.
